MegaVision Medium Format Digital Backs
MegaVision is not a company I’d previously heard of, but they have a fairly good-looking range of medium format digital backs.
MegaVision offers four medium format digital solutions:
- E3 (6 megapixels)
- E427 (11 megapixels)
- E4 (16 megapixels)
- E5 (22 megapixels)
Their backs are quite thin, and are designed to allow an OQO computer (”the smallest self-contained PC ever built”) to be physically attached, linked up via a firewire cable. This should, in theory, give the user some of the features of tethered capture direct to a Windows XP computer (e.g. being able to view the image in Photoshop immediately, transferring images onto a file server, emailing images, etc), without the hassle of dangling cables and juggling a laptop while shooting.
Interestingly, these digital backs are available in either color or monochrome-only versions.
