Canon EOS 400D

Canon’s new entry-level 10.1 megapixel digital SLR, the EOS 400D (also named the Digital Rebel XTi or Kiss X Digital in various markets), looks like excellent value. Canon has fixed many of the complaints people had with the 300D/350D bodies, and they’ve also added some nice new features:
- 10.1 megapixel CMOS sensor
- nine-point AF sensor from the EOS 30D
- new dust removal system which includes anti-static surface coatings, low-pass filter vibration and software based dust removal pattern removal
- removal of the status LCD
- camera settings and adjustment on LCD monitor
- larger 2.5″ LCD monitor
- proximity sensor below viewfinder eyepiece to disable the LCD during composition
- new viewfinder view includes 9 AF points as well as EOS 30D style status bar
