The Canon EOS 30D is an upgrade of the Canon EOS 20D, utilizing the same 1.6x APS-C format 8.2 megapixel sensor, but with a number of new and improved features.
The major new features include:
- 2.5″ rear LCD screen
- 3.5% spot meter
- RGB histograms
- increased buffer size
- selectable frame rate (3 or 5 frames/sec)
- Picture Style modes, as seen in the Canon EOS 5D
