On the 19th of August, 2004, Canon officially revealed the successor to the EOS 10D digital SLR - the Canon EOS 20D.

This is an 8.2 megapixel camera, with a smaller and lighter body than the 10D. It has a 9-point autofocus system, very short power-on delay, and up to 5 frames per second continuous mode with 23 frame buffer. It can take the new EF-S lenses, a concept first seen with the EOS 300D (Digital Rebel). Other nice improvements include a RAW+JPEG shooting mode, USB 2.0 interface, flash sync up to 1/250 sec, top shutter speed of 1/8000 sec, and more control over long exposure noise reduction.
